THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE OF PLAN

Sometimes, adjustments have to be made. Schedules need calibration. There are contingencies, questions, obstinate demands, weak excuses, strong desires. Journeys are abandoned midway. Aeroplanes sit on wooden platforms in a wilderness like widows on a funeral pyre. Flights are grounded, engines rust, propellers turn idly. The debris of the unrealizable accumulates on the surface of the eagerly expected.

Time to pause, to take stock. Sit still and let a conversation begin. There has been a change of plan.

Piece contributed to An(other) Publication, on the invitation of Katarina Zdejlar and Renee Ridgway.

Invitation:
The structure of the publication text is comprised of contributions from 15 writers who have previously addressed issues of otherness. Each author is invited to write a preface of around 2000 words, as if it were for an imaginary/possible publication that would introduce and examine these possibilities from their own practice. 300 cultural producers are invited to submit images for the cover. Each cover will be unique and by that, each publication being unique.
An(other) Publication is a publication project by Renée Ridgway and Katarina Zdjelar in collaboration with the Piet Zwart Institute and Revolver Books, Archiv für aktuelle Kunst.
